Before the fall, Baylan Skoll was a Jedi Knight of genuine standing — trained in the Order's traditions, shaped by its discipline, and skilled enough that those who knew him remembered him long after the purge. What set him apart wasn't defiance or ambition, not then. It was the quality of his belief: full and considered, the kind that makes a man dangerous when it finally breaks.
Order 66 changed everything — not because it broke him, but because it confirmed what he had already begun to suspect. Survival sharpened that suspicion into something closer to conviction: that the Jedi Order had been wrong, not merely unlucky, and that its destruction was less tragedy than consequence. It was this belief, cold and considered, that drew him toward Morgan Elsbeth and a mission the New Republic would have called treachery.
He took the mission, completed his part in it, and then walked away — not into darkness, but toward something he could not yet name. Baylan Skoll's final arc in Ahsoka was a search, deliberate and solitary, driven by a certainty that something older than the Jedi waited to be found.
