The Hunger That Wore a Face
Before the hunger, before the mask, there was simply a man — a Human who had lived through the Mandalorian Wars and lost nearly everything in them. Family, friends, any sense of a future: the fighting took it all. He arrived at the final battle of that conflict carrying nothing but survival.
Malachor V changed everything. When the Mass Shadow Generator fired, something tore open inside him — not a wound that healed, but one that widened. He developed an unquenchable hunger for Force energy, compelled to drain it from every living thing he encountered. It ravaged his body until his spirit could no longer hold its own shape, forcing him to bind what remained of himself to a mask and armour. Darth Traya found him there, and made him a Sith.
As Lord of Hunger and co-architect of the First Jedi Purge, Nihilus and Darth Sion drove the Order to near-extinction. He devastated Katarr, claimed Visas Marr as his Shadow Hand, and was finally destroyed at the Battle of Telos IV. The design on this page is drawn from that arc.
