Born on Chalacta and orphaned young when space pirates killed her parents, Depa Billaba was already showing the kind of resolve that would define her life — she sent an encrypted distress signal from captivity that Mace Windu himself decrypted. He answered it, and then he trained her.
From Padawan to Knight, from Knight to Master, from Master to High Council seat — Billaba climbed every rank the Order could offer. Then she set it all aside to take Caleb Dume as her Padawan and head back into the field as a general during the Clone Wars. The student became the teacher, and the teacher chose the harder path: not the Council chamber, but the battlefield.
At the Battle of Kaller, Order 66 came for them both. Billaba chose to face it so Caleb Dume could run — and run he did, carrying everything she had given him into the years ahead as Kanan Jarrus. The two designs on this page belong to that final chapter.
She gave Caleb Dume an incomplete training and an unbreakable foundation — and that was enough.
