A Mirialan raised within the Jedi Order during its most confident era, Vernestra Rwoh earned her Knighthood at fifteen — the youngest in a long time — trained under Master Stellan Gios. What set her apart was not her age alone, but what the Force showed her: a vision that led her to modify her purple lightsaber so it could elasticise into a lightwhip, a weapon unlike anything carried by her peers.
The turning point came early. Assigned to protect Avon Starros on what should have been a straightforward mission, Vernestra found herself stranded on Wevo after the Steady Wing was bombed — facing the Nihil with a Padawan she had not asked for and a young charge who refused to stay out of danger. She fought her way through it. And when it was over, she took Imri Cantaros as her own apprentice — not by the Order's design, but by hers.
From Wevo onward, her story moved through the bloodiest chapters of the High Republic — the Drengir on Starlight Beacon, the Nihil's assault on Valo, the fall of Starlight itself. She survived all of it, became a Wayseeker, knighted Cantaros, and trained another apprentice who would eventually walk away from the Order entirely. Decades later, during the events of The Acolyte, the weight of that choice caught up with her.
