One Professor Huyang design from one era
A Thousand Generations of the Gathering
Long before the Clone Wars, before the Republic itself had taken its final form, Huyang was already at work. Built over 25,000 years ago as a Mark IV architect droid, he served the Jedi Order from his post aboard the Crucible — guiding each new generation of younglings through the Gathering and the construction of their first lightsaber. Yoda sat in his class. So did Mace Windu.
That routine ended abruptly during the Clone Wars. While escorting Padawan Ahsoka Tano and a group of younglings back from Ilum — their kyber crystals gathered, their first hilts half-built — the Crucible was boarded by Hondo Ohnaka's pirates, hunting those same crystals. Huyang was shot in the fight, losing his head and both arms. He fought on anyway, and took down a pirate unarmed.
He survived, and that resilience carried him forward. In the years that followed — through the rise and fall of the Empire and beyond — Huyang endured. He surfaces again in the Ahsoka era, still at work, still present, joining Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren in their search for Grand Admiral Thrawn. The single design on this page belongs to that long arc.
Older than the Republic, outlasting empires — Huyang's record has no equal in the history of the Order.
