A Name She Chose for Herself
Before the Resistance, before the Force, there was Jakku — and a girl who had learned to ask nothing of the galaxy. Rey survived alone on that desert world through scavenging salvage from fallen Star Destroyers, trading parts for rations, and trusting no one. She was resourceful, fearless in the way only necessity makes you, and completely unaware that the blood running through her was Palpatine's.
The shift came when Force powers she had never asked for made themselves impossible to ignore. She sought out Luke Skywalker — a reluctant master who had resolved to let the Jedi die — and when he gave his life at Crait, the mantle fell to her. Leia Organa became her teacher, the dyad she shared with Ben Solo pulled her in two directions at once, and the scavenger who had once traded parts for rations found herself carrying the weight of an entire Order.
At the Battle of Exegol she defeated the resurrected Sidious, died, and was brought back by Ben Solo — who gave everything in that moment. What followed was a Jedi Master rebuilding an Order from nothing, armed with a yellow-bladed lightsaber she built herself. All seven designs in Rise of the First Order (Episodes VII–IX) trace that arc.
She rejected the name she was born to — and built a legacy worthy of the one she chose.
