Born a Nightbrother, Remade by Dark Magic
Born on Dathomir as a son of Mother Talzin, Savage Opress grew up a Nightbrother — Force-sensitive, bound to clan and blood, marked by the kind of quiet strength that rarely draws attention until it is tested. What set him apart in those early years was loyalty: when Darth Sidious came for young Maul, it was Savage who pleaded with his brother not to go, sensing that something was wrong.
The turning point was the Selection. Asajj Ventress chose Opress from among the Nightbrothers after trials designed to break lesser men — and then Mother Talzin's magic did the rest, remaking him into something larger, stronger, and hollowed of who he had been. To prove his loyalty to Ventress, he killed his own brother Feral. That act set the course: Dooku's enforcer, Ventress's instrument, a weapon passed between masters until he found the only one he would have chosen himself.
After Dathomir, Savage found Maul abandoned on Lotho Minor and brought him back — Mother Talzin restored his brother's mind and body. What followed was the arc those early years of loyalty had always pointed toward: the two brothers joined forces against Obi-Wan Kenobi, built the Shadow Collective alongside Death Watch, and seized Mandalore. Savage died there, killed by Darth Sidious, the Nightsister magic leaving him as it did.
He died as he had begun — a Nightbrother, the magic gone, apologising to Maul.
