History

Mara Jade first appeared in Heir to the Empire, a classic Star Wars Legends novel by Timothy Zahn. Once an elite assassin known as the Emperor's Hand, she was trained by Palpatine to eliminate threats to the Empire. After his death, Mara’s journey shifted, leading her through a period of self-discovery, redemption, and ultimately to the Jedi Order.

She later became a Jedi Master and the wife of Luke Skywalker, wielding her own lightsaber in numerous conflicts that shaped the fate of the galaxy. Her weapon became a symbol of transformation—from imperial agent to Jedi Knight—and represents one of the richest character arcs in Star Wars lore. While no longer part of official canon, Mara Jade remains a beloved figure among fans.
